Hi, I’m Sofia! I’m a freelance fiction editor specializing in clean fiction, with a special place in my heart for fantasy and dystopian. I’m currently completing my Certificate in Editing and Publishing through UCLA Extension and continuing my professional training through Nadine Brandes’ Freelance Fiction Editing course.

I view editing as a collaborative process, and I work alongside my authors to enhance clarity, voice, and pacing, while respecting genre expectations and the author’s creative boundaries. I believe that clean fiction often requires a delicate touch, and I enjoy helping writers maintain emotional depth, tension, and imagination while keeping their content standards in mind. I am especially drawn to stories that explore meaning, identity and courage, and I enjoy working with authors who are invested in both craft and intention. My goal is to offer feedback that feels clear, supportive, and useful; something writers can actually take back to the page with confidence.

Outside of editing, I enjoy sketching, hiking, playing card games with my family, binging TV shows (my current favorites are Psych and The Rookie), and I’m a big nerd when it comes to Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and The Chronicles of Narnia, just to name a few. Above all, I’m a follower of Christ, and my faith shapes the way I approach both my work and the stories I help bring to life. I would love the opportunity to work with you!
